Oh god.

This just isn't the week for me. I haven't been doing well on the WW but I'm still doing "better". Last night I had yummy avocado rolls for a snack - the big ones with wrapped with rice paper. Ohmigod, so good! Oh, and seaweed salad to go with... Not to mention my blended mocha frap from Starbucks that the BF bought me. Damn boyfriend. It was sweet and I didn't want to say no!

And, I've been totally out of flex points since Thursday! LOL

Anyway, I thought I'd share. I suspect that next week will be better since I'm going to do the grocery store shopping tomorrow. Plan week meals, etc. This week has been a lot of catch as catch can. While not failing COMPLETELY ... Still having set backs.

Hope everyone is fairing better than I!

Damn Walmart or Rescue Mission or Goodwill

Well so far I've been sticking to the points for the week. Especially after all the cleaning I did yesterday. Haven't made any great foods lately, though. Just haven't been inspired. That may be due to the _cooking only what is in the cabinets_ thing I try to do once a month. It helps prevent the moving out issue of "Hey didn't we pack that sauce when we moved IN here?"

Oh a bright note I may not need my points for the rest of the day. If you um lose your breakfast do you get those points back?

Thanks Pioneer Woman! Maybe...

If you haven't been to the Pioneer Woman website, go now. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. GO! Specifically, click on the Cooking tab. (Also cruise the rest of the site. This woman's writing cracks me right up.)

There is almost NOTHING healthy about this woman's cooking (at least from the WW perspective), but her recipes all look delicious, and easy. I've tried out one or two with good results.

Tonight, in honor of Roses and Sharon visiting, I'm planning to dive into the Asian Noodle Salad. Hey, it's almost all veggies, how bad could it be?

Try 14 points per serving bad! It's honestly all in the dressing. I mixed it up last night and it smells and tastes so good - I can't wait to start cutting vegetables!

Starbucks

Hey, did you know that a Tall Soy Chai Latte at Starbucks is only 3 points! That's totally exciting. I got one for me and Amanda on Tuesday and today. Yay treats!

However, totally avoid their "low-fat" breads/sweets. Their low-fat strawberries and creme coffee cake is 7 points and their low-fat lemon loaf is 8 points.... Not as bad a the real thing but not great. One must hope they have flex points left. LOL

Here's their nutrition information if you just can't live w/o your 'Bucks... and, yes, there's a pun in there.

Anyway, how goes things for everyone else?

Thanks Ichiban Kan

Okay, you all know that Amanda and I are stuck on the bento lunch thing. Well, I've been looking at them online and bought several cool types. Specifically, I ended up getting the 'Happy Balloon' bentos from one store on eBay but they didn't have a plain orange strap so I bought one with a monkey on it. Since then, I've been interested in owing the bento with the monkey on it.

Amanda found a store that sells bentos for $1.00 +/- so I bought the monkey bento - along with many good things today! :)

Oh, so yeah - Thanks Amanda too for feeding my bento addiction. I've got some baran coming with your name on it! ;p

Round 47

Here we go again. Maybe we'll actually manage this for more than a month. I have faith, really.

Weight Watchers Online

So, are we all signed up for the infamous WW online? Amanda and I are having a war of who can make the tastiest lunch with the lowest points -- how fair the rest o' ya'll?

Once again

Once again I'm trying to get back on the wagon. I've made a strong 50/50 effort with exercise over the last three weeks. Yesterday I restarted at Spark People. I'll find accountability there, at least.

Too bad that I pick one of my busiest weeks to try to kick it into gear.

Sigh.

Is a resolution if you're not resolute?

So the husband and I have decided to motivate each other this year, which is a good thing. We both need to loose weight, some more than others. I put some thoughts in the burning wicker man on New Year's Eve - things for the two of us to leave behind in the new year. Those were:

- 50 cumulative pounds
- Our unnatural love of the couch

I'm hopeful.

The plan is to get off of said couch at least 3 times a week and do something kind of sporty. I imagine this will include walking, biking, kayaking (later in the year), and possibly going to the gym.

We're already eating pretty good and pretty healthy, although some of us need to eat less of that healthy food. Now we need to add on to that.

I'm weighing in at 221 this morning. I'm not feeling too bad about that as it means that I weathered vacation without gaining any weight. I plan to weigh in every Sunday morning. There's a doctor's appointment in March, so let's see how I'm doing then. We're aiming for less weight and lower blood pressure. That's a good goal!

What have you done for me lately?

Here are some recent pics of the great food I've been eating. Now if I could just get off my fat ass and move around some!

11.19.07 - It's BLUE!
11.20.07
11.26.07
11.27.07
11.28.07

If you get sick of seeing my food, just say so. I'll probably ignore you, but you can say something.

Also, here's a quick tutorial I did on how to make Inarizushi. Fun and easy!

Alright ladies...

It's Thanksgiving.

Don't eat too much.

Pinkie swear!!

Shame me into posting

So okay, I LOOK at this site every day. I swear. But no urge to post. For shame.

Here are all my lunches for the past 2 weeks (not including this week): Photobucket Bento Album

I'm not going to go into great detail over my missed time. It should suffice to say that I think I've been eating pretty healthy/well. Home cooked breakfasts, lunches and most dinners. I really think spending more time cooking has actually helped me. I know this sounds crazy, but I'm actually taking time to think about what I'm eating. I'm taking joy in preparing foods instead of just "throwing something together." I haven't had a processed meal in the last 3 weeks. And the good news from my doctor's appointment yesterday....

I've lost 3 pounds!

That's with eating better and really minimal exercise. I've been walking about 20-25 minutes a few days a week. And the husband and I have been taking a Lindy Hop class once a week. That's it so far.

Yay!

Here's to starting over! (Again...)

Okay, so I am happy about being down 1.4 pounds since I started posting here... several weeks ago. = Slow progress, though, is better than no progress. Had hoped to be a little more slender with the tropical vacation (which means bathing suits) staring at me. But, it is what it is.

Food yesterday sucked, but I was decent about paying attention to Weight Watchers points. For breakfast I had a cranberry-orange muffin (11 ponits - good lord!), and a venti starbucks soy chai (8 points). Then I was depressed about having eaten 19 of my 21 daily points before 9:00am. (Shit.) So, around about 2pm, I was really getting hungry (reading the menu for lunch at The Orchard restaurant in Frederick did *not* help). Jariris said that "the vajayjay commanded me" to eat something. So, not wanting to enrage the vajayjay, I went to Teaism and got a Bento box (YAY for bento!)... tuna with roasted sweet potatos, sticky rice (oops, I ate it all), and some lightly steamed broccoli. For dinner, I had (no... not celery, which I should have) a mini bagel with Nutela (droool).

Today started off much better with homemade chai (2 pts), oj (.5 pt), a mini bagel with loc and neuhfachtel (2.5 pts), 1/2 c. of plain yogurt with some pomegranates (.5 pt). So, 5.5 points -- not bad.

Lunch today is a bunch of 0 point veggies (carrotts, celery, cucumber), sugar snap peas (.5 pt), an orange (1 pt), some left over Indian food I made this weekend with basmati rice (2.5 pts), 1/2 c. plain yogurt (.5 pt), grapes (1 pt), an apple (1 pt) for an afternoon snack. That's a very hearty 6.5 point lunch.

That leaves 9 points for the rest of the day, but I am not sure what I will have for dinner. Probably some leftover hamburger soup and toast... if the husband doesn't scarf it when he gets home from Chicago. (Plus, there's the 2 extra points I earned walking for 50 minutes in the rain this morning.)

Onward and upward... next week will be fish with rice and beans... and LOBSTER! and lots of exercise.

Wagon, what wagon

So it is a good thing I had this ass to land on when I fell off the wagon as well (L) The past week has sucked. I've tried to be good, but I was major pmsing and really when it came to chocolate vs no chocolate - the chocolate pwnd me. Also we kept having dinner and lunch dates and I kept totally forgetting that restaurants do have salads.

So starting over again today.
B: Coffee :)

Grr...

Okay, so I have been *totally* off the wagon for several days. In fact, ever since I started posting here. Hmmm....

Seriously, though, I am back in the swing of things today and going to be very serious, as my vacation and the requisite bathing suit/wetsuit in public experience is fast approaching. We won't revisit the past more than to day that I started the day yesterday at The Cheesecake Factory - I don't think you can get much more off course than that (wasn't my fault - we had brunch with Sam's family). Sigh.

This morning for breakfast I had a pot of black tea, orange juice, and a mini whole grain bagel with neufachtel cheese and smoked salmon. No fruit today (was too lazy to cut up the cantaloupe). On the train (bad girl), I had a homemade chai with soy milk.

Today's lunch includes a plethora of healthy goodies: 15 pumpernickle sticks, grapes, carrotts, celery, sugar snap peas, cucumber, apple, roast chicken thigh, and either a cup of chicken broth, or a can of Amy's alphabet soup.

Planning on probably some plain yogurt with strawberries and granola and some steamed broccoli for dinner tonight. If I am cold or particularly hungry, I might have some of the chicken noodle soup I made this weeked.... and, of course, some homemade zucchini bread for dessert. =D

Didn't weigh myself after the past 6 days of horrible habits, but I don't think I am too far from where I was last week. Onward to prgress!

By the way - am back in the swing of things (or at least getting there) with a 2.5 mile walk this morning with Toots. Should be able to get the 4 mile walks in again once we change the clocks next weekend.

Bento lunches

So I don't feel like dredging up whatever I ate this weekend. I'll say I tried to be good, and leave it at that.

One thing I DID do today is spend some time cooking and prepping stuff for box lunches this week. Soncara has agreed to let me inflict this new hobby on him. Here's the first pic:

That's homemade crabstick sushi rolls with cucumber, carrots & teriyaki mayo; grapes; potstickers; cherry tomatoes and star shaped cheese. Yay matching lunch!

Thursday, Thursday...

Still raining, dammit.

Breakfast: Some crazy no flour sprouted hooha wrap with a lettuce leaf, 1/4 (if that) tuna salad, 1 scrambled egg, 1 Tbsp. Cheddar Cheese, 3 cherry tomotoes. Tastier than advertised.
Lunch: 2 onigiri (no seaweed), miso soup, grapes, trail mix, 3 carrot sticks, 5 cherry tomatoes
Snack: Please! Keep me away from the snack machine! Bah, small bag of Cheetos.
Dinner: maybe sushi, I haven't been filled in on this evenings plans yet. As it turns out, we're going to Chili's. I'm going to have some sort of salad. I don't know what they have there.

Stardate - 10/24

It's almost my birthday! Does almost count?

B- leftover fried rice (see yesterday).
L- 2 onigiri, carrot sticks, 6 cherry tomatoes, wakame soup (seaweed), cantaloupe & grapes.
D - don't know, but I'm getting a massage tonight!
Snacks - I brought a small baggie of trailmix to nibble on throughout the day.

So dinner was a small tuna wrap and some sesame noodles when I got home. Then after the massage I went out with my friend R and had some "Zen Chicken Potstickers" and a Sangria. Reminder me never to go to T.G.I.Friday's again. Their food is the suck. Their drinks too.

But the massage was pretty okay - I've got another appointment next month.
